I normally don't make personal songs but this one just happened. My boy, Old Yist, sent me a demo of this beat and I thought it was so fresh, it needed some lyrics. I arranged and mixed the beat down and the lyrics came pretty easy. There are hidden 3rd and 4th verses which may surface on a later release.
Here's a new instrumental beat from me on SoundCloud. Inspired by my homegirl, Gwen Charles.

I love to DJ house parties, especially on Halloween. This one had an Alice in Wonderland theme but heads could dress up as anything they wanted. You can see the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dumb, the White Rabbit and random other freaks getting down.
Want to see how I make a beat? This features me in the recording process of the beat you hear in the video. It starts at a record show digging in crates and continues until the final mixdown.
There has been a lot of excitement as of late surrounding the upcoming Phantasm movie, RaVager. This will be the final installment in the Phantasm series as famed Tall Man actor, Angus Grimm, passed away this year. The original movie was released in 1979 and is one of my favorite horror flicks. I dig it so much that I remixed the theme music and its gotten a lot of positive comments on YouTube. For this particular track I did a drum n' bass treatment which I think works well with the famous eerie melody.
One of our beats was recently used by the internet supergroup, the Impossebulls (founded by Chuck D of Public Enemy). The track "Bleeding Envy" off their new LP, "The Devils You Know", can be downloaded for free here. The credits in the liner notes say the track was produced by Phon-X, but this is Headsnack's other moniker when producing & rhyming for the group, Regenerated Headpiece.
The Eventide H910 Dual is one of my favorite effects. I thought it would be cool to make a song about it, using the effect on practically every track. Download the track here!
There are quite a few Mister Softee remixes out there but we think ours really flips the theme on its head. Its not just the memorable jingle looped with a drum beat underneath it. We warp it up and add an entertaining cow driving the truck through space. Please share as you enjoy your tasty dairy treats and if you're in Cali, be sure to check out So-Cal's only Mister Softee, where they've got the deep secret menu and very cool people running the truck.
One of my latest instrumentals is featured in Eventide's preset demo video for their new Tverb plug-in. My music starts at 1:21 in through the end. Tverb is a really dope plug-in that has all sorts of uses, especially the famous David Bowie 3-mic technique as heard on his song "Heroes".
