We are pleased to announced that Alternative Facts is now on both Spotify and Apple Music. Add it to your playlist, today!
I am proud to announce the release of a collection from Regenerated Headpiece (RHP) that features unreleased, remixed, rare, & live tracks from 2001-2013. Before I morphed into Headsnack I was known as Phon-X, a member of RHP. We combed the archives and got some heads to remix some tracks. If you were a fan of Regenerated Headpiece's records, please download it for free from BlocSonic!
And don't sleep on downloading the PDF liner notes!
I'm incredibly grateful to have been chosen as a featured artist on Eventide's website. Eventide make the best-sounding studio effects and stomp boxes. Ask anybody that's worked in a professional studio and they are sure to sing praise about their iconic gear. Even if you've never heard OF them, you HAVE definitely heard them on countless hit records from the past 40 years.
If you're a musician, definitely check out their plug-ins & stompboxes. They will take your compositions to the next level. They also offer a free, unrestricted 30-day demo for all their software.
If you are a guitarist, synthesizer head, or studio engineer, you know that Eventide makes some of the best effects in the business. They're great for use as outboard studio effects as well. Just bus those tracks out of the extra outputs on your audio interface and bring the processed sounds back in.
Pictured are the Eventide Space pedal (insane extraterrestrial reverbs), the MixingLink (studio Swiss Army Knife that combines a high-quality mic pre, mixer, practice amp, amp switcher, guitar switcher, and the ability to sing through your stompboxes in one pedal), the H9 Max (holy grail of stompboxes), the PowerFactor2 (best power block on the market), the Akai MPC Touch (super dope workflow), and of course, my studio cat, Dante.
One of our beats was recently used by the internet supergroup, the Impossebulls (founded by Chuck D of Public Enemy). The track "Bleeding Envy" off their new LP, "The Devils You Know", can be downloaded for free here. The credits in the liner notes say the track was produced by Phon-X, but this is Headsnack's other moniker when producing & rhyming for the group, Regenerated Headpiece.
I am an emcee and will always be. I don't write as many lyrics as I used to but it is ingrained in me in such a way that as I make a beat, I do so with the intention of rhyming on it. At the least I'm nodding my head, picturing somebody else ripping a hole in it.
Old school is a relative term, and while this beat is reminiscent of my "golden era" of hip-hop, I encourage you to spit a spontaneous verse over this and let me know the highlights of your cypher.
Featuring some ripping guitar work from Primo Sol.
We all know the internet was created for the sole purpose of looking at cats. I don't think he's feeling this beat, nonetheless remains a member of the entourage.
Many may not know that I was in the seminal NYC underground hiphop group, Regenerated Headpiece. For years we toured and got to personally meet heads like Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Eminem, Black Thought, Common, De La Soul, KRS-ONE, and Tha Alkaholiks, to name a few. Perhaps one of my favorites was Chuck D of Public Enemy.
Chuck ended up being a big fan of our records and we got to open up for P.E. at the WWF's The World club in Times Square. Another dream come true came a few years later when Chuck D recorded some backup vocals for two tracks off our 3rd album, The New Album. Besides a track called "Twist", Chuck also put down some ad libs for the title track. Click here to check it out and download it for free.
